Usually when "Saturday Night Live" parodies a film, you can pretty much bet the farm that there will be a heavy dose of snark involved. Hey, they're in the business of making you laugh, not making friends. So it's just another tribute to the power of Oscar frontrunner "The Artist" that even "SNL" has to give in to its infectious goodwill.

Proof? Last night's whimsical silent dance-off featuring "The Artist" star Jean Dujardin himself.

And that wasn't the only bit of high-octane Hollywood fun last night, as Nic Cage took time out from his busy "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" media tour to drop by the Weekend Update desk for a little tete-a-tete with himself, "Adaptation" style.
