Mark Wahlberg has done virtually everything in the book to become a star; he's modeled in his underwear, rapped about good vibrations, acted, produced, even talked to animals.
There's just one thing on the action star checklist he's neglected – shoot some stuff up with Denzel Washington – but that's all about to change.
Indie Wire reports that the pair are teaming up for "Contraband" director Baltasar Kormakur's upcoming movie "2 Guns," which follows an undercover naval officer and a DEA agent who are under investigation from each other for pocketing mob money.
The film, based on Steven Grant's graphic novel of the same name, has gone through a number of changes already, despite still being in pre-production. The movie was originally set to have "The Fighter" director David O. Russell at the helm, but after Russell replaced Wahlberg with the only person whose "Sexiest Man Alive" title has actually been protested Bradley Cooper in the upcoming "The Silver Linings Playbook," Russell handed the reigns to Kormakur.
The adaptation of Grant's story, written by Blake Masters, may also have a few tweaks here and there, particularly changing the comedic aspects of project into snarling, spitting, and sexually charged stare-downs between the leads gun stuff.
The film is scheduled for release in 2013.
