He's played a bad guy mafioso, a bad guy drug kingpin, a bad guy doctor, a bad guy cop, and the devil himself, but his latest acting role is truly despicable.
Veteran actor Al Pacino invites audiences to say hello to his little friend in "Despicable Me 2," his first animated movie, the sequel to the hit 2010 film.
Deadline reports that Pacino will voice the as-of-yet unnamed nemesis of Steve Carell's character, Gru, who spent the last film trying to pull off a crime that make Michael Corleone's antics look like child's play — the theft of the moon.
The first movie boasted a star-studded cast of voice actors, including Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Julie Andrews, Miranda Cosgrove, Will Arnett and Kristen Wiig. Carell, Segal, and Cosgrove have confirmed their participation in the sequel to the $543 million grossing film, while the rest of the cast has yet to be announced.
Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud, who directed the first movie, will helm the sequel, produced by Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment.
"Despicable Me 2" hits theaters on July 3, 2013.
