Bryce Dallas Howard has officially welcomed baby number two with hubby Seth Gabel to the world, and Grandpa Opie — er, esteemed director Ron Howard — has been just gushing all about the news on Twitter.
Little Beatrice Jean Howard-Gabel was born on Saturday, weighing in at 8 pounds, 6 ounces.
"Bryce & Baby B are spectacular Daddy Seth & brother Theo are beaming ear to ear," Ron Howard tweeted. "Beatrice's arrival is hugely exciting for our family Thanks for all the kind tweets folks."
Some of the family's friends in Hollywood have been spreading Twitter joy about the news as well, including director M. Night Shyamalan, who gave Bryce the lead in two of his films, "The Village" and "Lady in the Water."
"Hey Ron, tell Bryce congratulations from our whole family. I'll be waiting to cast Beatrice in a few years!" Shyamalan joked.
Meanwhile, her co-star and on-screen nemesis from "The Help" Octavia Spencer offered, "Congrats Ron from bryce's help family!"
Howard and Gabel's first child Theo was born in 2007, and she famously struggled with post-partum depression after his birth, even writing a guest entry for Gwyneth Paltrow's GOOP blog on the subject in 2010. From the sounds of it, though, things are going rather smoothly this time around.
