There was little mystery this weekend which movie would win the battle for the box office crown and as expected, Hollywood.com is reporting that "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" defeated fellow new release "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked," earning an estimated $40 million over the weekend.
