Tired of all the secrecy surrounding "Star Trek 2?" Wish you could get some inside dope on the casting? Well, if you want the latest, we suggest you go ask Alice, because we think she'll know.

Alice Eve that is, because according to Variety, the actress has just been signed on to play an unspecified role in the hotly anticipated sequel to the 2009 J.J. Abrams blockbuster "Star Trek."

Of course that probably only means something if you have any idea who Alice Eve is, but don't worry, that's what we're here for. A veteran of the television landscape, Eve had her big breakout role opposite Jay Baruchel in last year's romcom "She's Out of My League" and is currently slated to appear in next year's presumed blockbuster "Men in Black III."

So what will Eve be doing in "Star Trek 2?" Well, nobody knows except for Abrams and he isn't telling. What, you think he'd give it up that easily? We're lucky he even mentioned the signing of Eve to the cast. All we have to work with really is Variety's guess that she will be playing someone new to the franchise, though personally we're hoping she'll be taking on the role of Nurse Chapel, who in the original series was played by Majel Barrett (aka Mrs. Gene Roddenberry) and had a major league crush on Spock.

Whoever she's playing, one thing is sure: Given Abrams' love of secrecy, we probably won't find out the details until we're in the theater in 2013 watching the movie.
