There are still eight days left until "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" opens in theaters, but if you haven't already gotten your tickets, you may be out of luck. According to Cinema Blend, the latest entry in the vampire pop phenomenon has already sold out in over a thousand venues -- and is still selling tickets like gangbusters.
"Breaking Dawn"? More like breaking the bank.
It's no surprise, of course, that tickets for "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" are selling well. After all, the first three films in the franchise have tallied over $1.8 billion. And considering how loyal (read: rabid) Twi-hards are, most fans don't really want to wait and listen to their friends tell them about how great the movie was -- they want to see it as soon as humanly (or inhumanly) possible.
Still, even if "Twilight" selling tickets isn't exactly news, the actual numbers being thrown around are pretty eye-opening. For instance, Fandango, the leader in online ticket sales, is reporting that "Breaking Dawn" accounted for 72% of its weekly ticket sales, which is kind of crazy for a movie that isn't even coming out this week. And then there's the fact that over 1,000 showtimes have already sold out completely, meaning that many of you cosplay enthusiasts may be dressed up as Bella with nowhere to go.
Our suggestion? If you want to see "Breaking Dawn," you should probably buy your tickets right now. Of course, if everyone does that, the tickets will sell out even faster, so you'd better get cracking.
