Voila! Two more are in talks to join the "Burt Wonderstone" magic act.
Olivia Wilde and Steve Buscemi may soon show what tricks they have up their sleeves as they tip their hats toward the comedy about rival magicians, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Burt Wonderstone" follows a veteran magician (Steve Carell) who falls into crisis after splitting up with his longtime stage partner (who would be played by Buscemi). The magic man soon finds himself upstaged by an up-and-coming hipster illusionist (Jim Carrey) and a great rivalry is born.
Olivia Wilde would be playing the love interest of Carell's character. However, according to Deadline, Judy Greer and Sarah Silverman (!) also auditioned strongly for the role, and the filmmakers are waiting to see if Jessica Biel (no stranger to magic shows, having appeared with Edward Norton in "The Illusionist") will also read for the part. We'll have to see whose magic is strongest!
Olivia Wilde can currently be seen in theaters as Rachel Salas in "In Time" whilst Steve Buscemi is currently into his second season as crime boss Enoch 'Nucky' Thompson on HBO's "Boardwalk Empire."
"Burt Wonderstone" is set to go before cameras in January under the direction of TV veteran Don Scardino. The budget is set at about $30 million (which would imply that Jim Carrey doesn't command $20 million paychecks any more).
