You ready to watch Anne Hathaway get her "Bourne" on?
The "Devil Wears Prada" beauty has accepted the mission of headlining "Puzzler," according to The Hollywood Reporter. Hathaway will produce and star in what's described as a female-driven paranoia thriller along the lines of "Three Days of the Condor" (probably because "female-driven paranoia thriller along the lines of 'The Bourne Identity'" was already used to describe Angelina Jolie's "Salt").
"Puzzler" marks Anne Hathaway's first producing effort, and it's no surprise that it serves as a showcase for her in the kind of genre she has yet to really get into -- though she'll certainly prove if she's got the chops (or claws, rather) for being an action star with her turn as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in next summer's "The Dark Knight Rises."
We're betting that she does, by the way, if there's any truth to the recent reports of her getting kind of carried away in her fight scenes.
No director for "Puzzler" has been announced yet, though the Paramount-based project will be written by Karl Gajdusek, who recently penned "Trespass," director Joel Schumacher's home invasion thriller starring Nicole Kidman and Nicolas Cage.
Anne Hathaway recently signed on to play Fantine in director Tom Hooper's adaptation of "Les Miserables," opening Dec. 7, 2012. "The Dark Knight Rises" will hit theaters on July 20, 2012.
