Everybody has their favorite Halloween snack -- candy corn, Twizzlers, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups -- but according to the results of our ultimate Halloween poll, there's one food nobody will be eating this year: Pea soup.

The results are in and with almost 16 thousand votes, there's no doubt about it: "The Exorcist" has been named as the overwhelming choice for Scariest Movie of All Time, defeating runner-up "Paranormal Activity" by a nearly two-to-one margin.

So what other frightful features tickled your terror bone? Well, despite only managing a distant fourth in the Scariest Movie of All Time category, "A Nightmare on Elm Street" took home top honors in the race for Best Horror Franchise of All Time, earning 32 percent of the votes compared to 25 percent for second place finisher "Halloween."

But the real fireworks were in the individual categories. It's no surprise, of course, that "Twilight"'s Edward Cullen and Jacob Black dominated the Favorite Vampire and Favorite Werewolf categories respectively (though at 23 percent of the vote, Michael J. Fox's hirsute basketball star from "Teen Wolf" made a surprisingly strong challenge in the lycanthropic showdown). And Hermione Granger's victory in the Favorite Witch category, where she topped "The Wizard of Oz"'s Wicked With of the East and her fellow "Harry Potter" wand-slinger Bellatrix Lestrange, was also a foregone conclusion.

Favorite Slasher, on the other hand, was a nail-biter (no pun intended), with Freddie from "Nightmare on Elm Street" out-stabbing "Halloween's" Michael Myers by a not-quite-razor-thin margin of 34 percent to 21 percent. Jamie Lee Curtis ("Halloween") ironically edged out Neve Campbell ("Scream") for the title of Favorite Scream Queen, 29 percent to 26 percent. And the Favorite Ghost category was the closest race of all, with the spirit from "Paranormal Activity" defeating both Patrick Swayze from "Ghost" and Bruce Willis from "The Sixth Sense" (spoilers!) by just three percent.

And the Worst Horror Movie Cliche? Well, it was a tight one, but fittingly the ol' "failed cell phone call" dropped a squeaker to the "girl who trips" by a tally of 30 percent to 26 percent.

So take a look at our full results. And remember: This Halloween, try and lay off the soup, okay?
