Are you ready for Jar-Jar Binks in 3D?
Okay, so that's just a bit glass half empty -- or all empty -- but Jar-Jar's giant ears flapping in your face is just one of the many splendors waiting for you when the new 3D version of "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace" arrives in theaters next February. And we've got the brand new trailer for it right here.
Considering the fact that George Lucas has been on the forefront of developing cutting edge film technology for the past 30+ years, it's no surprise that he's embraced the 3D trend by retroactively rejiggering all of his movies; the only surprise is that it's taken him this long. And considering how much of the action is rendered with CGI, particularly in Episodes I-III, the conversion is likely going to be seamless, especially compared to some of the clumsier 3D efforts moviegoers have been subjected to in recent months.
So is a world that just finished sating its "Star Wars" fix by buying the entire saga on Blu-ray ready to pony up another chunk of greenbacks to see the films again in the theater in 3D?
