Is another Oscar nominee about to join the "Hunger Games" gang?
Actually, in this case, we're talking about an Oscar winner, as a Berlin concertgoer reported to fan site Mockingjay.net that Glen Hansard, the Academy Award-winning singer-songwriter and star of "Once," announced at a show in the German city that he would be appearing on the "The Hunger Games" soundtrack, and proceeded to play a song written from the protagonist's perspective.
Of course, none of this is confirmed through any official channels, but it'd certainly be an inspired choice; Hansard's tortured wailing would serve as an interesting accompaniment to the plight of Katniss Everdeen and the child participants in the Hunger Games.
We already know of one person who'll definitely be appearing on the soundtrack: Katniss herself, Jennifer Lawrence. The film's music producer, T-Bone Burnett confirmed in August that the rising star had recorded "Rue's Lullaby."
Check out the song below some are citing as Hansard's possible soundtrack tune, and get even more excited for "The Hunger Games," which hits theaters on March 23, 2012.
