Denzel Washington is one of our most multi-faceted actors, but if there's a "Denzel Specialty" it would have to be uncovering injustice. The dude is awesome at it.
He's dug deep into some nasty business such as war profiteering in "Inside Man," assassination plots for "Manchurian Candidate," and government conspiracy in "The Pelican Brief."
Now Mr. Washington is uncovering more dirty secrets, specifically in people's eyes.
According to TwitchFilm the two-time Academy Award-winner will be in the English-language remake of the 2010 Best Foreign Laguage Oscar-winner "The Secret in Their Eyes."
The plot of the Argentinian crime thriller is described thusly:
"A retired legal counselor writes a novel hoping to find closure for one of his past unresolved homicide cases and for his unreciprocated love with his superior - both of which still haunt him decades later."
Sounds like business as usual for Washington, who does "still haunted years later" pretty well too. Heck, who are we kidding, the guy can do anything. He'll be taking over the lead role originally played by Ricardo Darín, and the remake will be directed by "Shattered Glass" filmmaker Billy Ray.
Before he uncovers those secrets, Washington will have some secrets of his own in the just-finished CIA-themed thriller "Safe House" and is getting ready to board Robert Zemeckis' airline drama "Flight."
