When he's not busy sucking blood from poor innocents, what is "True Blood" heartthrob Stephen Moyer up to? Battling the legendary Jersey Devil, that's what!

But before you get all in a titter, the star's latest undertaking is strictly business—because he's just signed on for the lead role in Darren Lynn Bousman's new flick, which will feature Moyer as a man who takes his family on a camping trip into the New Jersey forest area called Pine Barrens.

Unfortunately, this may not have been the best choice of location for a family getaway because, according to legend, the acres of dense woodland are also a favorite hideout of the fiend (also known as the Jersey Devil), a misshapen chimera-style East Coast equivalent of Bigfoot who is almost as famous in cryptozoological circles.

We assume you can fill in the pieces of what might happen to Moyer and co. in the forest.

Bousman, the man behind the "Saw" franchise, isn’t trying to make a "cheesy creature feature." As Empire Online recounts, the director wants it to be "about the characters." He said, "Having watched Stephen for years on 'True Blood,' I have no doubt he's the right leading man."

Neither do we, Bousman; neither do we.
