"Now You See Me" has gained two more volunteers for its magic act as Amanda Seyfried and Mark Ruffalo have joined the heist thriller, according to Variety.

"Now You See Me" pits a team of FBI agents in a game of cat and mouse against a squad of the world's greatest illusionists who pull off a series of daring bank heists during their performances and shower the profits on their audiences.

Ruffalo, who did well as a harried cop in both "Collateral" and "Zodiac," will be playing the leader of the investigating FBI team. Seyfried will play a master technician (a theatre "techie," as they're often called) who builds contraptions to aid in the illusion of the heists.

The two join a cast that already includes Jesse Eisenberg and Melanie Laurent. Louis Leterrier ("Clash of the Titans," "The Incredible Hulk") will be directing from a script by Boaz Yakin and Edward Ricourt.

2006 saw the release of two magic-themed flicks (Christopher Nolan's "The Prestige" and Neil Burger's "The Illusionist") though neither succeeded in casting a spell on audiences. Maybe adding an "Ocean's Eleven" kind of heist twist will be just the ticket -- hey, it worked for "Fast Five."

Mark Ruffalo is currently shooting his role as Bruce Banner/The Hulk in "The Avengers," which will hit theaters on May 4, 2012. He also appears in the long-delayed "Margaret," which will finally be released on Sept. 30.

Amanda Seyfried will next be seen opposite Justin Timberlake and Olivia Wilde in the sci-fi thriller, "In Time," opening Oct. 28.
