They may not have the finesse of the slick-suited studs in Steven Soderbergh's "Ocean's" trilogy, but the pillage-prone cast of upcoming crime comedy "Tower Heist" has something even better: a whole lot of Alan Alda.
The Brett Ratner-directed film starring Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy tells the story of what might happens when Wall Street picks the pockets of Main Street and the little guy decides to get even. Think Madoff, but replace all the pilfering from non-profits and jail time with cathartic Murphy-helmed hijinks.
In the movie, finance fat cat Arthur Shaw, played by Alda, is found to have stolen billions from investors, including the pension funds of the hard-working staff at his luxurious Manhattan apartment building. Upon discovering Shaw's crime, building manager Josh Kovaks (Stiller) assembles some heist-happy help with the assistance of an ex-con (Murphy), and gets to work on getting back the staff's hard-earned cash. Among Kovaks' other conspirators are his blue-collar building buddies Casey Affleck, Matthew Broderick, Michael Peña and Gabourey Sidibe.
If there's one lesson to be learned from the movie, it's to keep your friends close and your enemies so close you can literally rob them without having to leave the building.
The film hits theaters on Nov. 4, but you can watch the trailer, which premiered on Yahoo! Movies, right here.
