Look, this is a family friendly site, so we can't really talk about the days when Robin Williams used to do freakishly manic, sweaty-faced stand-up. Let's just say this new trailer for "Happy Feet Two" kinda channels that vibe into a floofy, anerable cartoon for the whole fam. In 3-D, no less.
This trailer, which premiered on Yahoo! Movies, has everything: Williams speaking in a funny accent while being pushed off an iceberg to music from "Pulp Fiction;" a cranky elephant seal with a fancy British accent; a mouthy little penguin that starts rapping with his crew; cute girly penguins dancing and threatening to "Bring Fluffy Back."
On top of all that, Mumble is a disappointed dad who wants his son Erik to dance, but Erik wants to fly, even though penguins can't fly. But he sees this other penguin named Sven fly and, of course, that confuses matters further.
The full cast list hasn't been released yet, so it's too soon to tell if there will be any off-the-wall voice cameos like Chrissie Hynde or Fat Joe, but so far we can count on Matt Damon and Brad Pitt loaning their vocal chords to krill. You know, krill? They're like shrimp. So that's happening.
George Miller of "Happy Feet," "Babe: Pig in the City," and the "Mad Max" trilogy, is directing. Elijah Wood is returning as Mumble, whereas Pink is doing the voice for Gloria, who was previously played by the late Brittany Murphy. Naturally, voice actress par excellence E.G. Daily is back, although this time she will be voicing little Erik.
"Happy Feet Two" arrives in theaters on Nov. 18 (and, yes, that's the same day as a certain vampire movie).
