RZA is looking to train some badass ninjas.
The rapper turned actor will be showing the lovely Jinx how to dish out the martial arts mayhem as he takes on the role of the Blind Master in "G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes," according to Heat Vision.
Fans of the "G.I. Joe" comic book series will remember the Blind Master as the man who trained the wandering Billy, the son of Cobra Commander. Billy developed a strong bond with the Blind Master's protege, Jinx.
We're not sure if Billy is going to make it into the storyline of the "G.I. Joe 2" (we kind of doubt it), but Jinx will be played by Elodie Yung of the upcoming "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo." In the comics, Jinx is revealed to the cousin of Storm Shadow, who will once again be played by Byung-hun Lee, so expect some family-related tensions to be going on in the sequel... the kind that can possibly only be resolved with leaping and kicking!
RZA joins a cast that also includes Channing Tatum, who reprising his role as Duke; Dwayne Johnson, who will be appearing as Roadblock; and D.J. Cotrona, who will be playing Flint (which is kind of weird, 'cause we thought that's who Brendan Fraser was supposed to be in the first movie, what with the beret and all). Ray Park is expected to return as the coolest of the "Joe" ninjas, Snake Eyes, though nothing has been formally announced.
RZA is no stranger to the world of martial arts, having scored Jim Jarmusch's "Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai" and Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill." His acting credits include "American Gangster," "The Next Three Days" and "Repo Men."
"G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes" will fight for freedom in theaters on Aug. 10, 2012.
