Sam Raimi thinks she'd be a good witch. Disney thinks she'd be a bad witch.
That's the current debate over Hilary Swank at the production offices of "Oz, the Great and Powerful," according to Vulture.
Raimi wants Swank, with whom he worked with on "The Gift" way back in 2001 (before the director had even made the first "Spider-Man" movie), for the role of one of the elder witches, and Disney would rather he set his sights on Michelle Williams of "Blue Valentine" for the part.
Raimi is notorious for not backing down when it comes to situations like these -- he put up a successful fight for Tobey Maguire back in the day when Sony wanted to cast Wes Bentley in the role of Peter Parker in the "Spider-Man" movies.
However, in this case, this is Disney we're talking about -- and Disney, like, owns the universe.
Actually, we can see either Swank or Williams as a witch of Oz... so yeah, we're really no help at all in this argument.
Who will win: the Mouse or the guy who made the "Evil Dead" movies? Stay tuned...
