Long before Nicolas Cage entered his fantasy/ adventure phase, he proved his acting chops alongside John Travolta in the action-packed blockbuster "Face/ Off."
It's been over a decade since this dream team paired up, but they may be joining forces soon for not one, but two indie thrillers, Vulture reveals.
The first to shoot will likely be "Shrapnel," which (as of now) is slated to start shooting in June.
Written by Evan Dougherty, it follows a former Bosnian soldier who seeks vengeance against the American who badly wounded him by disguising a deadly war game as a friendly backwoods hunting trip.
"The Sorcerer's Apprentice," this is not.
The next flick in line, "Sea Trial," comes from "City Island" writer-director Raymond de Felitta, and is based on his father's book by the same name.
"Sea Trial" tells the story of a lovers' jaunt to sea gone terribly awry on board the yacht Penny Dreadful. (We're talking more than bad weather here.)
Though funding for this project is still in the works, the rumblings of Cage and Travolta are giving it some legs.
Only time will tell if these rumors will become reality, but if they do, the results are sure to be thrilling indeed.
