Hold on to your hankies, Harry Potter-heads, because you're about to witness the LAST SHOT EVER FILMED for the eight-film series. Ever. (except for the reshoots)
Cue Boyz II Men's "End of the Road."
Franchise producer David Barron introduced the behind-the-scenes clip on ABC Family, where they continue to regularly run the Harry Potter movies as if they were an essential matter of national security, which they totally are. It shows the last shot of principal photography (key words) on "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II" which Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson took part in.
Having literally gone through puberty on camera over the last decade, the three actors share the kind of immense bond that could only be forged when running around a set pointing wands at each other somehow secures the next four or five generations of your family's financial future. Also, we LOVE them!
The historical popularity of both the books and films in this series have made these three actors deservedly iconic, and many forget that there was a time when studio bosses had considered replacing one or all of them down the line. That they have not only been able to complete the cycle and provide continuity, but also continue to grow as actors who imbue their fantastic characters with real grounding in reality is an enormous feat that may never be equaled.
So here it is, the last shot of Hermione, Ron, and Harry. If you start to tear up, don't say we didn't warn you…
