If Benicio Del Toro asks you to do something, it's probably best to just say "Yes."

Two young men are about to learn the deadly consequences of saying "No" to Benicio in "Savages," director Oliver Stone's adaptation of Don Winslow's novel, according to Deadline.

Aaron Johnson and Taylor Kitsch are currently this close to signing on to "Savages" as Ben and Chon, two best pals enjoying a lucrative and laid-back lifestyle as pot growers in Laguna Beach, California. After they refuse to play ball after a visit from Lado (Del Toro), the top enforcer of a Mexican drug cartel, they have to come up with a fortune in ransom to get back their kidnapped shared girlfriend, O (short for "Ophelia").

Jennifer Lawrence was previously being courted for the part of O, but she's suddenly kind of busy with other things. No word yet on who Stone might be eyeing for the role now, though he's reportedly casting a wide net.

"Savages" will be the first Del Toro-Stone collaboration, even though it seems like they've worked together before. Probably because Benicio has appeared in so many Oliver Stone-ish movies like Steven Soderbergh's "Traffic" and Alejandro González Iñárritu's "21 Grams."

Stone is currently honing the "Savages" script with Shane Salerno and Winslow himself, and Salma Hayek has been rumored to be playing the matriarch of the cartel. Salma was also in "Traffic," so there you go.
