"Sex and the City 2" may not exactly have dazzled at the box office, but it looks like clotheshorse Carrie Bradshaw may be sashaying her way back onto the big screen — and boy, is she getting a makeover!

Grazia magazine reports that "Gossip Girl" star Blake Lively could be stepping into Sarah Jessica Parker's Manolo Blahniks in a prequel story about a young Carrie. The film would be based on author Candace Bushnell's young adult series, "The Carrie Diaries" -- the second book, "Summer and the City," comes out in April -- in which the 19-year-old aspiring journalist moves to the Big Apple.

"There are no plans to bring SJP and the other girls back together in the old format,” an insider tells Grazia. “The prequel is about breathing new life into the story and exploring Carrie’s first few months in NYC and the beginning of her relationship with an older man.”

According to the book's description, small-town girl Carrie relocates to Manhattan and becomes enamored with "the crazy characters in her neighborhood, the vintage-clothing boutiques, the wild parties, and the glamorous man who has swept her off her feet."

What, no love for the roaches in her matchbox-sized apartment?

The book will also reveal how Carrie met future BFFs Samantha and Miranda, and, we hope, blow the lid off just who got her hooked on those Cosmopolitans in the first place.

"Summer and the City," a follow-up to Bushnell's 2010 teen novel "The Carrie Diaries," is set to arrive in bookstores on April 26.

Fans salivating for the film could suffer from quite a long dry spell, as no official movie deal has been confirmed.
