Oh look, an inspirational movie about the heroic astronauts of the Apollo 11 mission, whose boldness and courage took humanity to new heights of achievement and proved a watershed moment in… PSYCH! It's the new "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" trailer, dawg!
Yep, that cinematic trickster Michael Bay has pulled a fast one on us with the announcement teaser for part three of his robo-carnage opus by showing inspirational scenes of NASA's great 1969 achievement that would make Ron Howard jealous, only to have Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin make a lunar discovery which Walter Cronkite & the rest of the world were not privy to.
It's all there in the new trailer, which concludes with a fleeting glimpse of a new character, who many internet messageboard nerds at this time seem to think is Alpha Trion, an old-sage mechanoid who is something of a father-figure to Optimus Prime and guardian of the Transformer homeworld, Cybertron. Only time will tell!
"Dark of the Moon" features the returning Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, and John Turturro, along with notable newcomers to the series Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (foxy replacement for Megan Fox), Frances McDormand, and John Malkovich, who we always suspected was hording giant robots inside his highly-accessible subconscious. Michael Bay will unleash this explosive assault on our retinas in 3-D this summer on July 1st.
