Okay, old schoolers, here's some major league news for you: according to MTV, Jonah Hill and the producers of his new big screen remake of the popular '80s TV show "21 Jump Street" are looking to have Johnny Depp make an appearance -- and he actually wants to do it.
For those of you who aren't old enough to remember the Cold War, "21 Jump Street" was one of Fox's earliest hits. The show started Depp on the road to becoming the awesome superstar he is today, a star certainly way too big to bother with a cameo in a movie based on an old TV show, right?
That's what we thought too, but apparently Depp is totally cool with the idea, telling MTV, "I'm in."
There's more, of course -- what would a Hollywood story be without some mis-communication and crossed wires -- but it totally looks like Depp might actually be reprising his role as eternally young detective Tom Hanson. You can check out MTV.com for all the details. And in the meantime?
Well, let's just say we're trying to find Peter DeLuise's phone number right now.
