Would you feel safe with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg heading up your neighborhood's watch?
Writer-actor Rogen and his writing partner Goldberg have been tapped for rewrite duties on the high-concept movie 'Neighborhood Watch.'
The story is about (you guessed it!) a suburban "neighborhood watch" group that is actually a front for dads to get some male bonding time away from the family. Things go awry, however, when the men accidentally uncover a plot bent on destroying the world.
Jared Stern penned the original screenplay, which then suffered a revolving door of names attached to the project—including fan favorite Will Ferrell—before lying dormant for some time. While it's still in search of a director, Shawn Levy and his 21 Laps banner are slated to produce, THR reports.
Hiring this high-profile tag team to spruce up the script definitely thrusts this movie back into the spotlight at Fox.
Rogen and Goldberg are no strangers to off-kilter comedies, counting Superbad, Pineapple Express and the upcoming Green Hornet among their writing credits.
Now that this "Neighborhood Watch" is (finally) coming together, we can all sleep a little better tonight.
