The first images from "Red Riding Hood" have surfaced... and they paint a darkened picture of this classic children's tale.

The snapshots from the film, directed by "Twilight"'s Catherine Hardwicke, show the doe-eyed Amanda Seyfried as Valerie both in the famous red cape and in the arms of Peter, a forbidden love played by Shiloh Fernandez.

The pictures are steamy (despite the snowy setting), and show us a Red Riding Hood who isn't so little. In fact, she's a bit of a sexpot.

Set in a medieval village that is haunted by a werewolf, this "Red Riding Hood" is the story of a young girl who falls for an orphaned woodcutter, much to her family's displeasure. Things get even messier for our heroine when she finds herself caught in a dangerous love triangle, Entertainment Weekly reports.

To whet your appetite even more, MTV's The Seven will also debut a short (but undoubtedly racy) preview clip today at 5 p.m. ET/PT. Rihanna's performing too, so you might just want to tune in.

"Red Riding Hood" also stars Lukas Haas, Gary Oldman, Virginia Madsen and Michael Shanks. This gothic tale hits the big screen in March.
