We'd buy a Jeff Bridges album.  Wouldn't you?

Bridges is out to prove that his singing in "Crazy Heart" wasn't no fluke by recording an album.  The project will reunite him with singer-songwriter Ryan Bingham, who wrote the ditties sung by Bridges in the film.

Showbiz 411 reports that the album, which will feature original songs written by Bridges and/or Bingham, will be produced by T-Bone Burnett, who also produced the "Crazy Heart" music.

Jeff Bridges won an Oscar earlier this year for his performance as country singer Bad Blake in "Crazy Heart."  It's the kind of role Oscar loves -- lots of self-loathing, temper tantrums, vomiting on yourself, that kind of thing.

And yeah, the man can sing... even when he's drunk.

Prepare yourself for a double-whammy of Bridges next month: "Tron: Legacy" opens Dec. 17, followed five days later by "True Grit."
