Talks of a cameo by French electronic music gods Daft Punk in the upcoming "TRON: Legacy" have been bandied about for a while, but, according to a video montage released by Walt Disney Studios today, long-gestating and all-but-confirmed rumor is officially fact.

DJ-producers Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo play -- wait for it -- a pair of DJs in a nightclub. No word yet on which acting school the duo attended to prepare for the role.

The song, entitled "Derazzed," is a pulsating piece of French house that doesn't stray far from the duo's signature sound. It does, however, perfectly mirror the futuristic techno-vibe of the upcoming film. In the clip, the DJs don't do much besides nodding their heads and dressing like robots, the latter a staple of their concerts for years, but it's enough to get music geeks excited and display a winking grin upon seeing them on the big screen.

This isn't the pair's first immersion into the film world. In 2007, the group released "Daft Punk's Electroma," the story of two robots wishing to be human but ending up as wandering pariahs. The pair directed the film, yet curiously no music from the group was used.

For the "TRON: Legacy" soundtrack, being released December 7, the group composed the entire film score, utilizing a 100-piece orchestra.
