The end of October is fast approaching and with it comes one of the most beloved and highly-anticipated holidays of the year, with kids and adults alike dressing up in extravagant costumes and throwing parties to celebrate.
No, we're not talking about Halloween. This year people will be gathering for a much more futuristic event: "Tron Night."
Grab your discs and fire up the light cycle, because Disney has designated Oct. 28 as "Tron Night" and it's no trick. Instead, hardcore fans desperately awaiting the highly anticipated and long in the making "Tron" sequel "Tron: Legacy" will be treated to an extended sneak peek of the film -- 20 minutes of it to be exact.
So what's the deal? According to a press release, the big event will work similarly to last year's "Avatar Night" wherein eager fans could head to their local IMAX theater to catch the footage.
Best of all, the event is completely free, as Disney is no doubt hoping to kick off some major word-of-mouth buzz for "Tron: Legacy" in advance of its Dec. 17 release date.
The announcement first came, appropriately enough, in the form of a complex online puzzle. Don't worry, though, because we here at NextMovie had our think tank of sci-fi codebreakers work around the clock to crack the signal; they eventually found the secret message, which naturally links you to Disney's new viral campaign website, www.tronnight2010.com.
Clicking on that link will tell you when and where you need to be to participate in "Tron Night," but you'll have to wait a little while longer for the details: a rundown of participating theaters near you won't be available until tickets become available tomorrow, Oct. 12, at 1 p.m. ET.
But hey -- at least it gives you a little more time to finish working on that "Tron" costume. And now you'll have yet another chance to wear it.
