When you're the Oscar-winning director of "The Hurt Locker," you can score both Tom Hanks and Johnny Depp for your next movie.
At least hopefully. Deadline reports that Kathryn Bigelow is courting Depp to join Hanks in "Triple Frontier," a movie that would automatically cost at least $40 million just by having those two show up for work.
Depp's schedule is, of course, packed, and the February start of Tim Burton's "Dark Shadows" might jinx the whole thing, but "Frontier" is a high-profile project if there ever was one and it's in everyone's best interests to do everything they can to make it all work out.
"Triple Frontier" is a crime drama that takes place in the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. The epic story has no less than five main roles, though there are currently no details on the characters that would be played by Hanks and Depp.
This is Kathryn Bigelow's first project since winning the Oscar for "The Hurt Locker" earlier this year.
