Kendrick Lamar Is Basically Han Solo In Funkadelic’s ‘Ain’t That Funkin’ Hard On You?’ Vid

Watch K Dot and Ice Cube party in a galaxy far, far away

By the time you watch the vid below, the funk shall be within you.

After collaborating with George Clinton on To Pimp A Butterfly, Kendrick Lamar has re-teamed with the legendary Funkadelic for “Ain’t That Funkin’ Hard On You? (Remix)” from the group’s 2014 LP First Ya Gotta Shake the Gate. K. Dot originally featured on the track’s Louie Vega remix last year, but the most recent reworking adds Ice Cube to the party for one hell of a jam.

In the track’s intergalactic vid, released Thursday, Kendrick basically becomes Han Solo, piloting a snazzy spaceship in a galaxy far, far away. After abducting an unsuspecting human from Earth and spitting some bars in the cockpit, he navigates the ship to a futuristic party with trippy costumes and dabbing galore. Cube’s there too, busting out bars like “Look what red and blue made/ Turned O’Shea into N.W.A.”

If Kendrick’s verse from the track sounds familiar, that’s because it’s the same one on “untitled 08” from his recent untitled unmastered. project. That version of it was severely lacking in funk though, if you ask us.
