Ed Sheeran Is Definitely Not Having Bridget Jones's Baby -- But McDreamy Might Be

Watch the new trailer and love it, just as it is

It's been a minute -- more like 12 years -- since we've last checked in with Bridget Jones, and surprise: She's still single.

This time around, however, Renée Zellweger's titular character is rocking the single life in the vicinity of singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, Glastonbury, and one Mr. Mark Darcy (Colin Firth). Oh, and McDreamy himself, Patrick Dempsey, makes his debut as Bridget's handsome new love interest and potential baby daddy, Jack Qwant. That's right, you lovely people: Bridget Jones is back, with a baby on board.

Watch the new trailer for Bridget Jones's Baby, aptly narrated by Ms. Jones, below and never stop swooning over Bridget and Jack's muddy meet-cute. (Sorry, Darcy.)

Bridget Jones's Baby is said to take place before the latest of Helen Fieldings's novels, Mad About the Boy. As you may remember from your broken heart when the news hit, Mark Darcy is dead in Mad About the Boy. But fear not: It does not appear that Firth is playing a ghost in Bridget Jones's Baby. Unless M. Night Shyamalan ghostwrote this movie and we didn't know it.

Bridget Jones's Baby is due in theaters September 16, 2016.
