When Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato kick off their joint Future Now Tour in June, they’re bound to have a few surprises in store -- namely, a batch of new music from NJ that we’re so “close” to finally hearing.
On Monday, the 23-year-old posted a cryptic Instagram vid featuring an instrumental clip of music with an animation of two chess pieces colliding.
The song in question is rumored to be “Close,” which Republic label chief Charlie Walk teased on Snapchat last week. Along with a pic of Nick performing at what looks to be some kind of private event, Walk hinted that a song called “Close” would be released on March 25. Oh, and he added that it’s “so good,” in case you had any doubt about its quality.
Nick previously gave fans a clue at the single’s title last month, when he tweeted, “Space is just a word made up by someone who's afraid to get too... _____.”
“Close” would presumably be the lead single from Nick’s upcoming third solo album, which he finished recording in February. At the time, he shared a vid of him smoking a cigar to celebrate the LP’s completion, captioning it, “New album done... That means new music music is coming soon..”
One thing’s for sure: Nick’s ready for us to hear his new jams. (And so are we!)
