Chances are, watching Troye Sivan’s music video for “Youth” -- during which he navigates a neon-washed house party -- made you feel all the FOMO. Between the shots of trendily dressed teens roller skating and actress Amanda Stenberg getting her tongue pierced, there was a lot of craziness going on. And now, in a behind-the-scenes vid released Friday, we get to see how it all came together.
In the making-of vid, Troye takes us inside the Los Angeles home where his “slightly bizarre teen party” goes down. “It just looks like the type of party that you want to be at,” he says, explaining that many of the extras were cool people he follows on Instagram. He also revealed that the eye-catching silver jacket he wears in the vid was actually the work uniform of director Malia James’ father.
James added, “Every room has a different sort of trippy thing happening. We just wanted it to capture all of the best parts of being young and having fun.”
Check out the behind-the-scenes vid below, and start hatching your plan for how to recreate that “make-out tent filled with Care Bears.” It’s clearly a party essential.
