During a segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday night, Khaled cruised around with his new pupil, giving him the full rundown of the major keys: be yourself, spread positive energy, show fan love, never fold, secure the bag, don’t fall for the trap, don’t play yourself... “How many keys are there?” Kimmel eventually asks. “It’s like a high school janitor’s keychain.”
Khaled and Kimmel’s hangout then turned into a mini episode of Cribs, as the self-proclaimed Quincy Jones of hip-hop showed off his bungalow essentials: boxes of Welch’s fruit snacks, niche candles with Cinnamon Toast Crunch in the wax, customized Listerine, and TONS of cocoa butter, which he advises you apply “everywhere.” (Yeah, everywhere.) There's also plenty of life advice thrown in for good measure, including a beatdown of the "they" who don't want you to succeed.
Most importantly, though, Khaled teaches Kimmel the ins and outs of his fave app, including the importance of angling, captioning, and dropping mad motivational mottos. “We just being us, having fun, and we captured it,” he says -- and if that’s not the zeitgeist of Snapchat, then I don’t know what is.
