Exclusive Clip: Michael Caine Brings the Heartache in 'Last Love'

Alert! Alert! New Michael Caine movie! This is not a drill, people.

It's called "Last Love", and it's a May-December drama set in Paris that may eventually turn more romantic than expected. Caine plays the wistful Mr. Morgan, a retired philosophy professor from America who moves to Paris following the death of his wife. Pauline (Clémence Poésy) is a young dance instructor who has been without a family for some time, and Matthew has felt disconnected from his own family since his wife's death, so the two enjoy  a natural connection. When Matthew's children, Miles (Justin Kirk) and Karen (Gillian Anderson), make their way to Paris, all of the family drama boils over. Directed by Sandra Nettelbeck ("Mostly Martha") and coming off a successful festival run, "Last Love" will arrive in American theaters on November 1st.

In this exclusive clip from the film, Mr. Morgan laments his poor fatherhood to Pauline. A woman desperately looking for a father figure, Matthew explains to her that he never wanted kids, never grew into being a father, and - despite it being the only thing he wanted to avoid - became just like his own (poor) father.

"Last Love" will be released in theaters on November 1.
