Josh Duhamel and Dan Fogler aren't exactly known for their performances in the drama-thriller genre. Duhamel, whose credits include "Life as We Know It" and "When in Rome", is often identified with his pretty boy roles in romantic comedies. Fogler has also established himself as a successful comedic actor, appearing in films such as "Kung Fu Panda" and "Balls of Fury". However, the two actors will get a chance to display their dramatic chops in this month's "Scenic Route", in which they play old friends who get stranded in the desert.
Mitchell (Duhamel) and Carter (Fogler) are on a road trip when their car breaks down and they are left alone in an isolated desert. As time passes, their friendship turns sour and they start to attack each other's life decisions. This leads to a physical confrontation that ultimately becomes a dangerous life-or-death struggle.
Check out this exclusive clip from the film, in which the two friends realize that taking the "scenic route" may not have been the best idea.
"Scenic Route" is currently available on VOD. It opens in theaters Aug. 23 and will be released on DVD on Sept. 17.
