Spiderman's webs can conduct electricity. Who knew?
This trait proves to be a real challenge for the webbed crusader in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" when he has to face off against his latest villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx).
At Comic-Con earlier this week, MTV's Josh Horowitz got a chance to sit down with "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" director, Marc Webb, to discuss the upcoming sequel. In the interview, Webb addresses what critics refer to as "villain glut," which has often plagued superhero movies in the past.
"The main villain in this movie is Electro," Webb insists. "We were very focused on that simple conflict between Spiderman and Electro. To me, Electro is a very captivating and interesting villain… I think Electro is god-like in his power." So how does Spidey stand against this super-villain? "For Spiderman, whose webs happen to conduct electricity, it poses a really difficult challenge. So that was our focus for the villain."
