Freida Pinto Joins Christian Bale in Terrence Malick's 'Knight of Cups'

Although TMZ wasn't on the ball when it came to quizzing Terrence Malick, some intrepid and more knowledgeable photographers are sneaking photos from the set of his latest movie, "Knight of Cups." And they're managing to reveal some pretty awesome casting.

The latest snaps, courtesy of The Playlist, show Freida Pinto on set with Malick's leading man, Christian Bale. Pinto got her big break in "Slumdog Millionaire" and has since appeared in Woody Allen's "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger," "Miral," "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," "Immortals" and "Trishna." From the nature of the photos, it looks like her role could be another love interest for Bale's character; other photos from the set show him in the same setting with Natalie Portman.

Tons of photos are actually surfacing online from the film set that have revealed even more of the cast, though not a lot about the story. Bale has been photographed with Cate Blanchett and Imogen Poots, as well as Wes Bentley without his fancy "Hunger Games" beard.

The theory is that the title, formerly "Lawless," refers to the tarot card. The Knight of Cups can represent a person; on the positive side, he's a romantic, a sensitive guy (or gal), an imaginative person and highly emotional. Of course, the more negative traits mean he's mercurial, flighty and temperamental.

Hmmm, sounds like the perfect role for Bale, although it's probably not such great news for the female characters.
