Natalie Portman hasn't been in a single movie since winning her Oscar for Black Swan, after which she took a healthy maternity leave. Technically she has a movie coming out this weekend, with The Phantom Menace, but we won't talk about that quite yet. Portman has signed on to two films, both from noted director Terrence Malick.
According to Deadline, "Portman is joining the casts of the Terrence Malick films Knight Of The Cups, and Lawless. Portman will join Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Isabel Lucas in Knight of the Cups, which shoots this summer. She will follow by starring with Ryan Gosling, Bale, Blanchett, Rooney Mara and Haley Bennett in Lawless, the film Malick shoots in the fall."
We're used to going nearly a decade without a new Malick film, to get two made in one year is almost too good to be true. Will they be as good if they haven't marinated for ten years? Lawless has to be good, Ryan Gosling Baby Goose is in it. Mmmm, Baby Goose.
