With Brett Ratner resigning from the Oscars as producer, Eddie Murphy has decided to exit as host. Ratner resigned from producing the Oscar show after he made some questionable comments in recent days, including a particularly harsh gay slur, as Deadline reports. Following quickly on the heels of that announcement was the news that Eddie Murphy would be stepping down as host, which isn't particularly surprising given that Ratner had brought Murphy on to the project. With only roughly three months until the Oscar telecast, the Academy's biggest night has now been thrown into total chaos. Who will replace Murphy and Ratner? The biggest vote at this point is for The Muppets to host the 2012 Oscars.
