Bryan Fuller To Helm New 'Munsters' Show

We love Bryan Fuller, especially Pushing Daisies and Wonderfalls. It's just that his shows have a way of getting cancelled so it's incredibly hard to get excited anymore when you know that yet another show you love will probably get cancelled.  But that's the breaks!  NBC passed on a script Fuller brought to them last year, but this year they decided they wanted to see a revamped version.

TV Guide reports, "While the original was a half-hour sitcom about blue collar Monster-Americans, Fuller's take on The Munsters will be an edgier, slightly darker hour-long show. Fuller is expected to more deeply explore the origins of how the residents of 1313 Mockingbird Lane came to be."

Can shows from a simpler time even survive in the sarcastic and complicated world we now live in?  Well, when they remade The Addams Family it went over pretty well, but was definitely a more modern take on the old show.  Fuller has a great visual style and many of his shows have contained darker elements alongside spooky or wacky ones.  Considering the original show was filled with kooky happenings, mythical creatures and more, this might actually be a good fit.  Nothing concrete has been said or done, but we'll know more in the coming months.
