A contestant from Jillian Harris' season of The Bachelorette has been found dead along a Southern California highway.
Julien Hug, 35, had been missing since Monday. His body was found Wednesday in a remote area about 90 miles from Los Angeles.
On The Bachelorette, Hug described himself as an adventurer who enjoyed sky-diving.
"I will always remember Julien’s gentle demeanor and kind heart, which will be sadly missed," Jillian Harris said Thursday.
In The Bachelorette house, Hug was known for being a great chef who once baked dozens of cinnamon pop tarts for the guys after a night of heavy drinking.
"He was like the dad of the group. Always mature and there to talk or help you out," fellow contestant Reid Rosenthal tells RealitySteve.com. "Great chef and a great soul."
Bachelor Pad's Kiptyn Locke, who knew Hug before joining him in the Bachelorette house, told Radaronline.com that Hug was a thrill-seeker who really enjoyed life.
Before his death, Hug was living near Palm Springs and running a new restaurant owned by his parents.
Contestant David Good tells Us Magazine he remembers Hug as "the first to offer to cook food in the house."
