Kara DioGuardi has officially parted ways with American Idol.
Was she fired? Did she choose to leave? We're guessing she wasn't asked back to the judging panel, which is getting a star-studded makeover after the departures of high-profile judges Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres.
Randy Jackson is expected to be the only original Idol judge to survive the changes, which reportedly include the addition of Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.
Fox shrewdly made the announcement that DioGuardi was history on Friday, at a time when most tabloid reporters are already celebrating Labor Day in the Hamptons.
"I felt like I won the lottery when I joined American Idol two years ago, but I feel like now is the best time to leave Idol," DioGuardi said Friday. "I am very proud to have been associated with American Idol — it has truly been an amazing experience."
