Actress, model, and amateur film star Pamela Anderson was voted off Dancing With the Stars on Tuesday, in the exact midpoint of Season Ten: she finishes in sixth place out of eleven. The season finale is three weeks away.
The Playboy pinup legend and onetime Baywatch star had long been a target of DWtS producers, and was given much of the credit for the increased starpower and higher ratings this season. But though she received star billing on the show and was treated kindly by the judges, the audience at home never quite seemed to warm up to her.
Pamela was in the first bottom two of the season even with much weaker dancers to choose from, and was in the bottom on one other occasion prior to Tuesday. The older and more conservative DWtS viewership might not have appreciated her heavyhanded flirting with her much younger partner Damian Whitewood, or may simply have been expressing their disapproval of her frequently naked past.
In a major surprise, Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were the other pair in this week's bottom two, despite two straight weeks of strong scores. Niecy Nash was completely safe despite receiving the lowest score on Monday's show. The final five will each have two dances to tackle next week, as we move closer to the next awarding of the Mirror Ball Trophy.
