Conan O'Brien Next Move (Movie)

It's been nearly a month since Late Night with Conan O'Brien signed off the air, and there are reportedly still seven long months to go until America's favorite redheaded comedian (sorry, Carrot Top) can return to late night television. However, no one's said anything about Conan's infamous NBC settlement barring him from movie work. Here are a few ideas for prospective film projects, should Conan find himself getting bored during his TV hiatus:

1. The Late Shift 2

Conan joked during his final Tonight Show monologue that when HBO made the inevitable sequel to its early '90s late night war film that he wanted to be played by Academy Award-winning actress Tilda Swinton. We totally agree with his brilliant casting suggestion, but considering how brilliantly Conan poked fun at his own sorry situation during his final weeks as The Tonight Show host, we'd love to see him have a hand in writing the script.

2. A Sequel to Michael Clayton

If Tilda Swinton gets to steal the role Conan was born to play, it's only fair that he should get to steal one of hers in return.

3. A parody of Up in the Air

A full-length movie might spread this joke a little thin, but the concept would make for a great short at this year's Oscars. Conan could play one of the sad sack firing victims and maybe even wipe out a desk, Zack Galifianakis-style. And if George Clooney isn't available to reprise his role, he could easily be replaced by Conan's NBC exit interviewer, Steve Carell.

4. A comedy featuring thinly disguised versions of his old characters

NBC may retain the rights to Triumph the Insult Comic Dog and the Masturbating Bear, but who's to say Conan isn't free to craft a film around new characters like Victory the Mean Funny Puppy and the Inappropriately Touching Itself Koala?

5. A romantic drama with Tina Fey

It's been cryptically hinted at on several 30 Rock episodes, but now it's time for the world to hear the full story behind the torrid past between Liz Lemon and the former Late Night host.

6. In the Year 2000: The Movie

A sci-fi adventure in which Conan and his trusty sidekick Andy are transported to a futuristic world in which all their predictions have come true.

7. A buddy comedy with Norm MacDonald

Norm's visits to Conan's Tonight Show couch revealed a great surprise -- the SNL vet and failed movie star can still be hilarious, at least in Conan's company. Pairing the two friends up on the big screen could only lead to good things for two funny guys who both deserve a second chance.
