The now-infamous White House party crashers are also apparently masters of evading questions, as they proved during an appearance Tuesday on the Today show.
In their first media appearance since Michaele and Tareq Salahi allegedly sneaked into the Nov. 24 White House State Dinner, the couple said they are "devastated" by the accusations and insist they were invited guests.
The interview went something like this:
Matt Lauer: "WHO invited you?"
Tareq: "Well, you know Matt, one of the things we're doing is we're working with the Secret Service and their internal investigation and ..."
Michaele: "We respect everything they do."
The couple repeatedly professed their respect and admiration for the Secret Service, President Obama, and the White House, and answered most of Lauer's questions with a variation on "We're devastated" and "We are cooperating with the Secret Service."
They also hinted at a dramatic turn of events to come that will clear their names, though they refused to offer any more details.
