First Gossip Girl was in the hot seat for its steamy storyline. Now The Office is under fire for its Halloween episode, which turned a mock suicide attempt into a punchline.
The American Foundation of Suicide Prevention is upset over the opening scene of the Oct. 29 episode, in which Steve Carell's dolt of an office manager pretends to hang himself in front of a group of young trick-or-treaters. "Kids, just remember, suicide is not the answer," he says. "It is the easy way out."
NBC has yet to respond to the criticism.
