Dancing With the Stars Claims Its First Injury

One week before the premiere of Dancing With the Stars, the show has claimed its first injury.

And the honor goes to ... former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay. He was already the least likely contestant to be a dancing champ, and now he's hurt his foot while rehearsing with dance partner Cheryl Burke.

DeLay saw a doctor in Los Angeles Tuesday and tweeted an update on his condition: "No stress fracture. It’s a pre-stress fracture. I live for another day."

The Texas politician may lead to an early exit for Burke, a taskmaster who has won the disco ball trophy twice and came in second-place with Gilles Marini last season.

Dancing With the Stars debuts its ninth season Sept. 21 on ABC.
